A recent Gallup poll uncovered something surprising about people who went to college. It found that a lot of them are worried about becoming outdated in their jobs.

In 2017, only 8% of college-educated workers had this fear, but now, in 2024, that number has risen sharply to 20%.

That’s a big leap!

This fear, called FOBO (Fear of Becoming Obsolete), used to be more common among those who didn’t go to college. Now, it seems like both groups are feeling almost the same level of worry about this.

This might change how we think about college degrees. Before, having a degree felt like a guaranteed way to secure a good job. But now, it’s not as foolproof as we once believed.

On top of that, the cost of going to college keeps going up, while the salaries people get after graduating aren’t growing fast enough. This makes going to college a tougher choice, especially in some parts of the world.
