As of the beginning of 2023, social media usage in the USA was widespread, with various statistics indicating its prevalence:
- Social media users in the USA constituted 72.5% of the total population.
- Among users aged 18 and above, there were 235.1 million individuals using social media, equivalent to 88.6% of the adult population.
- Overall, 79.0% of the total internet user base in the USA, regardless of age, were active on at least one social media platform in January 2023.
- In terms of gender distribution among social media users, females accounted for 53.9% while males made up 46.1% of the user base.
Experts project that by 2029, the number of people accessing the internet in the US will reach 343.48 million. This projection indicates an average annual growth rate of 1.1% between 2025 and 2029.
